POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a full stack developer role supporting all aspects of Web Development. Working alongside a team of web developers, this position will develop and maintain websites within best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Architecting Websites for both External and Internal (Employee Portal) purposes
Use best practices in hosting of websites (cloud, on-prem, etc.)
Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications and digital media.
Work closely with other members of the web team.
Performing Website updates.
Developing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types.
Maintaining an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups.
Back up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery.
Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
Determine user needs by analyzing technical requirements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Certifications, and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or 4 years of related experience.
Deep knowledge of HTML, SASS/CSS, JavaScript, REST API
Fundamental understanding of Object-oriented programming in PHP
Understanding of UI/UX
Writing custom posts types, taxonomies, and queries without plugins.
Ability to develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up.
Leverage ACF in WP.
Responsive design with robust cross-browser/device testing.
Take complex PSD/XD wireframes and turn them into beautiful code.
Ability to write clean code for SEO and site performance (speed).
Basic understanding of web security best-practices (SSH keys, SSL certificates, etc).
Git version control
Database understanding and experience
Ability to write Crons
SQL experience preferred not required

BACKGROUND CHECKS
The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
